Sharing kindness through art

Some people express kind thoughts and positive messages through artwork.

For example, putting a symbol such as a rainbow in their window is a way to share a kind message.

What are symbols?

Symbols are simple pictures that represent words. Sometimes when a person doesn't know a word, they can draw it out.

Can you think of an example of types of artwork that shares kind messages?

Kindness rocks

Do you know about The Kindness Rocks Project?

The Kindness Rock Project is a way to help people express positive messages through art.

There are rocks that are different in size and colour with different messages on them. The title for this project is called “The Kindness Rocks Project”. Right after the title there is a message describing what it is. The message says “take one when you need one share one with a friend who needs some Inspiration or leave one for another. 1 message at just the right moment can change your whole day, outlook.”

Each kindness rock is carefully painted and is placed in where others might notice it.

Each rock has a positive word, message and/or symbol marked on it. It might include a pattern and/or bright colours. The idea behind the Kindness Rocks Project is to spread feelings of kindness and togetherness.

What is a pattern?

Pattern is art with a repeating design. The pattern can have lines and shapes. The pattern can have colour and texture.
