Germs

It is important to build habits that keep our bodies and other people safe from germs.

Press ‘What are germs?’ to explore a definition of germs.

Germs are very small living organisms that can cause illnesses. They are so small that we need to use a microscope to see them.

A microscope magnifying a sample to reveal germs of many different shapes and sizes.

Germs like to live on surfaces, on toys, in our mouths, and in our noses. Touching unclean surfaces, sharing dirty toys, coughing, and sneezing can all spread germs.
