Action

Stress is natural

Stress is your body’s natural response to something that requires your attention or some form of action. It is normal to feel stress in moments when you are challenged, worried, embarrassed, or excited.

Finding positive ways to cope with stress, such as exercise and journaling, can often help to minimize these symptoms in advance, and during, a stressful event.

Don’t ignore your mental health!

It is important to monitor your mental and physical health in times of stress. At times, you may find yourself feeling over-whelmed and experiencing higher than usual levels of anxiety. There are many community-oriented organizations that can provide support and guidance if you feel like you are in mental or physical distress.

One such organization is Kids Help Phone. They provide a community-oriented service available to young people across Canada who may be experiencing a variety of issues concerning their mental health and well-being.

Here is a link to Kids Help Phone(Opens in a new window), so you can explore their website. As you do, answer the following questions:

  • Who can access the Kids Help Phone service?
  • What are three issues that young Canadians are contacting Kids Help Phone about?
  • What is the number to text if you would like to contact a counsellor at Kids Help Phone?
  • Is there a fee to use Kids Help Phone?

Record your response digitally, orally, or in print.
