Fashion trends are influenced by many factors, including popular designers, celebrities, social media, television shows, and music.
Trends may influence people in different ways. Use the following questions to guide your thinking:
- What types of trends exist outside of the fashion industry?
- What kinds of trends have you experienced in the media?
- Think about some of your favourite pieces of clothing and/or pairs of shoes. What made you want to buy it/them?
- Are trends positive or negative? Explain your thinking.

Research 2-4 different companies that promote sustainable fashion and have a positive impact on the environment and their community. If possible, include an example of a Canadian company or companies that ship to Canada.
