Donating
One way that kids can help to make a difference is through donating.
Press ‘What is donating?’ to explore the concept of donating.
Donating is one way that people can share the resources that they have with others.
Press ‘What kinds of resources can be donated?’ to explore the different ways someone can make a difference through donating.
What kinds of resources can be donated?
These resources may include money, time, or other goods and services. For example, money can be donated by raising money and giving that money to a charity you care about. Time can be donating by spending a day volunteering with an organization – maybe by playing games or making crafts with the elderly. Goods can be donated by collecting food or clothes for a community organization. Services are donated by organizations that offer free teeth cleaning to people in need.

Task 1: Donation examples
Let’s explore some examples of people who donate their time, money, belongings, or other resources! Use the videos below to answer the questions:

Task 3: Persuade someone to donate
What are some causes that you think are important to support? Use the Internet to explore different causes. For example, access to clean water, building schools in remote areas or a local skate park for children. Choose one cause and create a persuasive letter to a friend that outlines the importance of the cause and why it is important to donate to the cause. Come up with three convincing reasons to donate and three supporting details for each. You can record your ideas in an audio recording, the organizer below, or an organizer of your choice.
